VS309 COST COMPARISON CALCULATOR — OVERVIEW ============================================ WHAT IT IS A self-contained tool that compares VS309 (FST's day-of-pour moisture solution) against a competitor MVE epoxy moisture-vapor barrier across cost, schedule, leveling, moisture mitigation, and LEED/CO2, and generates a branded, multi-page PDF report. Runs as a desktop app or in a browser at https://calc.fstoversite.cloud — fully offline, no cloud dependency. TWO INDEPENDENT CALCULATION FLOWS 1. Leveling solution — driven by the leveled/corrected area you set as a head-to-head: "With FST" (e.g. 15%) vs "Typical" (e.g. 70%). Covers shotblast prep, leveler material (cost scales with coat thickness), labor, install/prep energy, transport, blast-abrasive make-up, and total cradle-to-installed CO2. 2. Moisture-mitigation solution — driven by its own mitigated area (independent of the leveling %). Compares VS309 vs MVE on cost, schedule, and CO2, and itemizes everything VS309 eliminates: MVE surface prep (shot-blast to CSP-3), epoxy material + transport, and any primer — because VS309 installs day-of-pour and needs none of it. WHAT IT QUANTIFIES (THE DIFFERENTIATORS) - Money saved — VS309 vs MVE product cost on the mitigated area. - MVE prep eliminated — the CSP-3 shot-blast + disposal VS309 avoids entirely. - Localized-area days saved — leveling-crew days (the overall schedule keeps moving). - Schedule days saved — MVE mitigation delay avoided (MVE goes to 0 days). - CO2 avoided (LEED) — embodied (A1-A3) + transport (A4) for the epoxy and abrasive, itemized. - No Red List chemicals — VS309 uses no epoxy; the four competitor epoxies carry bisphenol-A/F (ILFI Red List). Flagged in the report for LEED MRc4 conversations. SOURCING INTELLIGENCE Enter the project ZIP and pick a product; the tool finds the nearest manufacturing plant and auto-fills the haul distance (feeding transport CO2) for both the leveler and the MVE product. Imported products (e.g. Koster) resolve to their US port-of-entry. OUTPUTS - Live results — KPI tiles + two detailed breakdown tables (Leveling & LEED; Moisture mitigation VS309 vs MVE). - PDF report — FST-branded, header on every page: leveling summary, mitigation head-to-head (with charts), full component breakouts (material, transport, energy, abrasive, primer), a "no Red List" statement, and an assumptions page. All formulas and default assumptions are documented in docs/MODEL-NOTES.md; every value in the tool is editable per project.
